The large rubber hose that carries fuel from the filler neck down to the tank. On a truck this age the original rubber hardens and cracks, and the first sign is usually a smell of petrol while you refuel or a wet patch near the filler after a full fill. This is the fuel system: a perished filler hose is a fire risk, not an inconvenience, and it is not a part to keep driving on. Have a qualified mechanic confirm where the leak is coming from, because the filler hose and the tank's own valves can produce the same smell, and replace the hose with genuine fuel-rated line rather than whatever hose is on the shelf. The number and the fitment come from a Montero specialist's catalogue and an independent parts catalogue, cited below — good evidence for what a part number is and what it fits, and not factory literature, so read every figure on this page as the catalogue's claim rather than as a service-manual specification.
